Scope Assist a counselor with supervision and programming for a group of assigned campers, gaining experience in all phases of camp counseling and supporting other departments as needed.

All positions support the mission of Camp Arnold – to teach campers about Jesus Christ.

General Duties

Attend and participate in all camp programs and spiritual activities.

Maintain cleanliness in personal grooming and living quarters.

Assist with the clean‑up of the camp at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the summer.

Assist with other duties as needed.

Specific Duties – Safety and Supervision

Enforce camp policies and procedures.

Maintain the utmost level of safety for staff and campers at all times.

Ensure compliance with American Camping Association standards of safety and programmatic conduct.

Coordinate and implement all program components relative to the daily schedule in a timely fashion.

Weekly Responsibilities

Assist counselor in providing leadership, care and guidance of a group of assigned campers daily.

Participate actively in the initial cabin meeting for your assigned cabin group.

Supervise the assigned camper group while in the dining room.

Clean up the cabin living area daily.

Plan and conduct one cabin devotion per week.

Check camper beds each morning for bed wetting.

If bed wetting is found, follow procedures to wash bedding and clean the mattress discreetly and caringly.

Assist with leadership in program areas as assigned and coordinate preparation with the Unit Leader.

Accompany the assigned camper group to all camp activities planned for their involvement.

Complete any required forms related to camper or program evaluation or health documentation.

Complete daily entries in the Camper Log book as needed.

Attend Weekly Camp Out unless given specific permission otherwise.

Assist with other duties as needed.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.

Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and reach overhead.

Ability to operate telephone.

Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer.

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Ability to access and produce information from a computer.

Ability to understand written information.
