Join to apply for the Recruiter II role at Southern Oregon Education Service District. The Southern Oregon ESD Focal Student Groups program seeks a Migrant Education Recruiter to join the team. This person will communicate with families and district staff in Jackson and Josephine Counties, work from the SOESD office in Medford, and later relocate to Phoenix once the new building is completed. The recruiter also meets families in the community when traveling to homes, schools, or workplaces. The primary role of this position is to identify and recruit students for the SOESD migrant education program, inform families of services, and support academic success. The recruiter travels in the community to meet potential migrant students and their families, applies technical program eligibility requirements, submits certificates of eligibility to the state database, works closely with other SOESD Migrant Education staff, attends Migrant Education parent meetings, provides short presentations as requested, and must successfully pass the federal Migrant Education recruiter assessment within X months of employment. Essential Functions Provide guidance to SOESD Migrant staff in maintaining and updating lists of potentially migrant students. Interview, at a minimum, an average of two potentially migrant families per workday to determine eligibility for Title IC-Migrant Education services. Complete Certificates of Eligibility (COEs) for qualified families accurately as measured by error and defect rates defined and recorded in the SOESD COE Quality Review meetings. Provide recruitment support and technical assistance in regular SOESD COE Quality Review meetings. Inform qualified families of available Title IC-Migrant Education services. Coordinate with community service agencies and organizations to arrange for them to participate in and/or present at events for Migrant families in order to empower families to access needed services. Serve as interpreter for Migrant families in small and large group situations. Arrange for and facilitate events and/or meetings at appropriate times for Migrant families. Organize and facilitate the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC). Maintain appropriate records of activities and contacts. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Minimum Prerequisites Two years of college coursework. Ability to obtain "Certification to Identify and Recruit Migrant Students" within the first two months of employment. Bi-literate in Spanish/English. Bicultural. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Expertise in working with migrant families. Leadership experience in organizing and conducting meetings. Ability to attend required training out of the local area. Ability to regularly work outside of a standard work schedule. Ability to understand and adhere to the laws related to Title IC-Migrant Education. Basic computer skills. Valid Oregon driver’s license and reliable transportation. Perform physical requirements unaided or with reasonable accommodations. LOCATION: In person LENGTH OF POSITION: 1.0 FTE / 258 Calendar Year (year round position) SALARY: Southern Oregon ESD Classified Salary Schedule: $17.45/hr - $20.88/hr for the 2025-2026 school year IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Program Administrator Benefits Southern Oregon ESD contributes up to 2114.00 per month (family coverage) for health, dental and vision insurance premiums for qualified employees.
