Lead infrastructure strategy and engineering excellence as a Senior DevOps Engineer at a thriving Austin-based IT service provider. You'll architect enterprise-grade solutions, mentor engineering teams, and drive operational transformation across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments. Shape DevOps practices, establish standards, and directly impact client success at scale.
What You'll Do:
Architect scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure solutions for complex client environments and business-critical applications Establish infrastructure as code standards, governance frameworks, and best practices across teams and projects Design robust monitoring and observability strategies for proactive issue detection and resolution Lead automation initiatives to streamline deployment pipelines and enhance operational efficiency Mentor junior and mid-level DevOps engineers through code reviews and technical development Optimise cloud infrastructure and costs through governance policies and strategic optimisation Lead incident response and postmortem processes to drive continuous improvement Design enterprise-grade security controls, compliance frameworks, and disaster recovery protocols Guide clients through infrastructure modernisation and cloud migration strategies
Technical Stack:
Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP (multi-cloud strategy experience valued) Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar Container Orchestration: Kubernetes (production-level, cluster management, networking, security) Monitoring & Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, or equivalent Operating Systems: Expert Linux administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL) CI/CD & Automation: Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar AI/ML Infrastructure: Experience designing or managing AI/ML workloads is highly valued
Your Background:
4+ years of DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineering experience. Proven track record designing and implementing infrastructure solutions at scale Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities Expert-level Linux systems administration and troubleshooting Advanced proficiency with infrastructure as code and CI/CD practices Experience managing cloud infrastructure costs and optimisation Strong architectural thinking and ability to balance technical excellence with business requirements Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
