Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic Job at Garnet River in Village of Waterford

Overview

We are currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic for an Environmental Services company located in Saratoga County. This candidate will inspect, repair, assemble, disassemble, diagnose, and maintain heavy construction equipment and diesel-powered vehicles. This position will include working out of the shop and providing field service on various job sites across the greater Northeast region.

Base pay range

$38.00/hr - $42.00/hr

Minimum Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience as a heavy equipment diesel mechanic
• Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License and DOT Certified
• Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and hydraulic systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task, manage work priorities, and effectively work within a deadline driven environment
• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a formal training program in diesel mechanics through a technical school or community college
• Master Mechanic (ASE) certification

Job Duties

• Perform repairs on a wide range of heavy equipment including engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, exhaust systems, transmissions, suspension, brakes, and more
• Analyze malfunctions, troubleshoot problems that may not be readily apparent, and find solutions to challenging repair scenarios
• Order parts and maintain inventory
• Conduct thorough inspections and routine maintenance to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns
• Use computerized tools and equipment
• Maintain accurate records of all services performed
• Conduct field visits in case of an emergency or sudden breakdown
• Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations

Hourly Rate

$38-$42 per hour
