Position Overview We are seeking an experienced

Anatomic Pathology Operations Manager

to oversee daily operations across the Histology, Cytology, and MOHS laboratories. This role is responsible for maintaining high-quality testing, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strong leadership to supervisory and technical staff. The ideal candidate has deep experience in Anatomic Pathology and excels in staff management, workflow optimization, quality assurance, and regulatory readiness.

Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations in Histology, Cytology & MOHS laboratories. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards (CAP, CLIA, OSHA, state guidelines). Supervise and support the Pathology Supervisor, Chief Cytotechnologist, and Office Manager. Manage, coach, and mentor cytotechnologists, histotechnologists, scientists, and laboratory assistants. Oversee Quality Control programs and prepare monthly QC reports. Maintain staff competency, education, and annual compliance requirements. Participate in committees, meetings, and performance improvement initiatives. Manage budgets, capital equipment planning, payroll, scheduling, and staffing. Train staff and ensure accurate documentation for test implementation and competency. Maintain effective communication with internal teams and external vendors. Assist with laboratory software optimization, instrument interfacing, and report formatting. Ensure safe working conditions for all staff and patients. Perform duties of laboratory supervisors or assistant supervisors as needed. Complete additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in clinical technology

or related science. Minimum 6 years of relevant hospital laboratory experience , specifically within Anatomic Pathology. Active New York State License

required: Clinical Laboratory Technologist,

or Cytotechnologist,

or Histotechnologist,

or Pathologists’ Assistant Preferred:

ASCP certification.
