Job Overview
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will primarily focus on New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts, creating and implementing process improvements, and optimizing manufacturing efficiency. They will work closely with the technical workforce to support production floor operations and serve as a cross‑functional liaison between operations and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
Champion Device NPI projects from concept to production; ensuring the manufacturing team is set up for successful ramp‑up.
Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize new product design for component manufacturability, assembly, and test.
Identify, escalated, and mitigate new product rollout risks through manufacturing process control and end‑of‑line testing.
Drive collaborative efforts with Operations to meet cross‑functional requirements such as BOM structuring, component procurement strategies, etc.
Assess process flow and implement Lean and Six Sigma.
Curate work instructions and training to increase build efficiency and quality.
Create fixturing/tooling to support production scaling with demand.
Assist junior engineers in sustaining and continuous improvement efforts for projects focused on manufacturing and manufacturability.
Work with quality to reduce NCMR and other CAPA related issues.
Report on KPI, OKR, and other monthly metrics for management.
Support cost‑reduction initiatives by investigating material costs, manufacturing and machining processes, and considering lead‑time and quality impacts.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
8+ years of experience working with electromechanical assemblies.
Experience supporting new product launches from concept to production; experience in life‑science automation is a plus.
SolidWorks 2023 or similar CAD program knowledge.
Expertise in Microsoft Office suite.
Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple projects.
Deep understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
Electrical knowledge and troubleshooting, including the ability to understand and interpret schematics.
Exposure to GD&T best practices.
DFX/DFMA mindset to support ongoing sustaining/CIP and NPI projects.
Experience using ERP/PLM software; Dynamics 365 or Bluestar PLM experience is a plus.
Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
On‑site full‑time; up to 10% travel locally or internationally.
