Reports To: Corporate Leadership
Position Overview GrandeShores Ocean Resort is seeking an experienced, strategic, and people-focused General Manager to lead our dynamic oceanfront property located in the heart of Myrtle Beach. This resort boasts two lazy rivers, three pools, multiple hot tubs, children’s pools, an onsite restaurant and bar, and a welcoming environment for both overnight guests and local walk‑in traffic.
Hiring locally preferably.
Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership
Oversee and coordinate all resort departments, ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) across departments to ensure consistency and excellence, in alignment with corporate standards.
Ensure that all resort amenities, including pools, lazy rivers, and hot tubs are well maintained and compliant with safety regulations.
Collaborate with department heads to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
Champion a culture of guest satisfaction by ensuring service excellence at all guest touchpoints.
Monitor guest feedback, online reviews, and service scores to identify trends and develop action plans for improvement.
Maintain a visible and approachable presence throughout the resort to ensure personalized guest, homeowner and vendor interactions.
Excellent working knowledge of PMS and staff mentorship of the same.
Financial & Revenue Management
Lead budget management and monthly financial reviews to ensure revenue goals and cost targets are met.
Manage resort inventory, including rooms and F&B, ensuring accurate tracking and efficient purchasing strategies.
Oversee revenue management strategies in collaboration with corporate or internal teams to maximize ADR and occupancy.
Food & Beverage Oversight
Ensure seamless operation of the on-site restaurant and bar, which serves both resort guests and local walk‑in traffic.
Collaborate with the F&B manager on menu planning, food safety compliance, staffing, and service training.
Staff Leadership & Development
Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate department heads and resort staff to build a strong and motivated team.
Lead regular management meetings and provide coaching to promote accountability and collaboration.
Promote a respectful and safe work environment that complies with all federal, state, and local labor regulations.
Facilities & Safety Management
Partner with the Engineering Department to ensure all facilities are safe, clean, and maintained to high standards.
Oversee compliance with health and safety codes, emergency procedures, and environmental sustainability practices.
Ensure timely completion of work tickets in compliance with corporate standards.
Oversee accurate billing, reimbursements and excellent working knowledge of all Engineering software.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a General Manager or senior operations leader in a full-service hotel or resort.
Proven track record of managing multiple departments, driving revenue, and achieving high guest satisfaction.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective teams.
Expertise in budget management, P&L analysis, forecasting, and inventory control.
Familiarity with hospitality software platforms (PMS, POS, inventory and revenue management systems).
Knowledge of Myrtle Beach hospitality trends is a plus.
Work Environment & Expectations
Full‑time, on‑site leadership role.
Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring physical presence throughout the property and involvement in day‑to‑day operations.
