This role coordinates and oversees daily food service activities, working both independently and through supervisory oversight of staff. This position upholds and promotes LJBTC, Inc’s Signature Service standards to ensure an exceptional member and guest experience. The Assistant Restaurant Manager contributes to creating a lasting impression of exemplary service, resulting in highly satisfied and loyal members and guests.# **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Assures that floor is properly staffed and maintained throughout his/her shift.* In conjunction with the manager, assigns work to employees and monitors performance to ensure that quality service standards are maintained.* Fills in as needed by business demand on the dining floor and in the bar.* Inspects food and food preparation to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations. Delegate responsibility with follow‑up to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness.* Investigates and resolves food quality and service complaints.* Reviews financial transactions and monitors budget to ensure efficient operation, and to ensure expenditures stay within budget limitations.* Evaluates and appraises performance of subordinate employees. Regularly provides employees with positive and/or negative feedback regarding performance. Promptly conducts formal periodically scheduled appraisals (i.e. 90 day and annual reviews).* Based on performance, appropriately rewards, coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees. Adheres to applicable company policies and procedures and applicable federal and state laws.* Helps plan and organize daily work activities for employees and helps set weekly and/or monthly goals for the Restaurant.* Other duties may be assigned.**Salary Range:** 72k to 75K **SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**Assists in supervision of employees in the Service Staff. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit in the absence of the restaurant manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. **Qualification Requirements:*** Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four‑year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.* Must have and maintain a current San Diego County Food Handlers card and RBS certification.* Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in English from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and spreadsheets such as Lotus 1-2-3 (or Excel).* Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus. **Schedule & Hours:**This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day**.
