About the Position The company is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join its team in Brea, CA. This role is critical to the continued growth and success of the company’s electrical construction operations.
The Senior Estimator will lead the preparation of accurate, competitive bids and proposals for projects ranging from $500K to $20M. In addition to performing estimating responsibilities, this individual will provide leadership within the estimating department—mentoring junior estimators, developing best practices, and fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Include
Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for electrical construction projects.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine scope and risk.
Lead, mentor, and train a team of estimators to ensure consistent and high-quality work.
Coordinate subcontractor outreach, review quotes, and integrate pricing into proposals.
Support bid strategy, schedule development, and value engineering efforts.
Collaborate with project management, operations, and leadership teams on bid pursuits.
Participate in estimating process improvements and department standards development.
Requirements
Experience:
Previous experience estimating electrical construction projects (senior-level or leadership experience preferred).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in
Accubid
Pro and
LiveCount .
Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction means and methods, and industry best practices.
Project Experience:
Commercial/Industrial
Mixed-use developments
High-rise construction
Hospitality & casinos
Educational facilities
Capabilities & Attributes:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead and mentor team members.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
Benefits
Compensation: $125,000 – $175,000, depending on experience.
