UbiquiTx is a stealth biotech company pioneering the next generation of targeted protein modulators. We are designing a novel class of therapeutics that potently and selectively modulate historically undruggable targets not currently addressable by small-molecule degraders, utilizing computationally-designed protein fusions that can both bind to a target of interest and tag it for targeted intracellular modulation.

UbiquiTx is seeking a highly motivated, creative and solutions-oriented Associate Scientist to join its therapeutic discovery team located in Cambridge, MA. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, this individual will support key aspects of biological assays, pre-clinical studies, platform, and research programs for the development of UbiquiTx’s programs and future pipeline product candidates. In this hands-on laboratory position, the successful candidate will contribute to the preclinical discovery, development and assessment of UbiquiTx’s novel platform. In particular, the applicant should have experience in mammalian cell culturing techniques, molecular biology, and in vitro assay development. The applicant is expected to have a robust experimental skill set, an eagerness for learning, and contribute to a strong culture of teamwork and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Primary responsibilities will include:

Molecular biology to generate mammalian and viral expression plasmids

Retroviral or lentiviral transduction of cell lines and expression validation, protein/antibody expression, qPCR, Flow Cytometry

Utilize a wide variety of molecular and cell biology techniques and present the data in a timely manner either as a scientific presentation or report

Generate, analyze, and interpret/communicate data

Plan and implement resolutions to technical issues and instrument troubleshooting when needed

Assist with general lab maintenance

Build and maintain relationships with vendors and assist with technical aspects of vendor negotiations

Actively contribute to a focused, team-oriented atmosphere providing assistance and/or guidance to colleagues when needed

Identify and implement scientific and logistical solutions in a multidisciplinary environment

Maintain high standards of laboratory safety

The applicant should have experience in mammalian cell culturing techniques and in vitro assay development. The applicant is expected to have a robust experimental skill set, an eagerness for learning, and contribute to a strong culture of teamwork and collaboration in a fast-paced environment. MS/BS in Biology with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience. Ability to work independently and able to balance multiple tasks or projects. Diligent with details and timely execution and delivery of high-quality results. Background in basic or translational research, including but not limited to high throughput screening, cell-based assays, molecular biology and protein biochemistry. Attention to detail, organization skills, and rigorous experimental record keeping using an ELN system are critical. Collaborative, proactive and optimistic personality.

Preferred/desired skills:

Experience working with primary cell lines or difficult cell line models generation of stable cell lines

Experience with AAV or Lenti/retroviral transduction

Nucleic acid quantitation by qPCR

Flow cytometry sample preparation and data analysis

Experience with molecular cloning techniques and site-directed mutagenesis
