Job Description The Manager of Behavioral Health Advanced Practice role is intended for an existing provider who will shift a portion of their clinical time into administrative leadership (0.2 FTE). In partnership with department leadership, the Manager is responsible for the vision, strategy, direction, and performance of various domains. In partnership with physician, nursing and operational leaders, the Manager, Advanced Practice Providers provides operational leadership and day‑to‑day management within the assigned behavioral health divisions. The manager ensures efficient workflow, high‑quality patient care delivery, and effective coordination of advanced practice provider services while supporting the strategic initiatives established by department leadership.

Reporting The Manager, Department of Behavioral Health Advanced Practice reports to the Director, Department Behavioral Health Advance Practice and works in collaboration with the associated Department of Behavioral Health Service Line Administrator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as a liaison between practicing Advanced Practice Provider (APP) staff and supervising physician
Serve as a liaison between APP staff and Medical Staff Office for credentialing and privileging
Collaborate with the Acclaim Senior Director of Advanced Practice
Partners with the Director, Department of Behavioral Health Advance Practice for alignment with Departmental goals
Management of all Department of Behavioral Health advanced practitioners including but not limited to: Ensuring all licensure and certifications are active; Appropriate credentialing for scope of practice for all APPs; Conflict resolution
Coordinates the specific orientations and training for employees, which may include, but is not limited to: Initial unit‑based, job specific competencies; Computer Based Learning modules; Clinic specific testing; Assisting with preceptors/mentors training and assignments; Conducting annual needs assessments; Documenting and maintaining educational requirements for clinic staff
Fosters collaborative working relationships with physicians, management, and clinical staff across departments to enhance care coordination and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Designs and promotes professional development initiatives to strengthen staff competencies and support continuous learning.
Drives continuous performance improvement among all APPs in clinical practice while recognizing and building upon current achievements
Maintains staff and/or clinic schedule as indicated
Participates in regular staff rounding
Participates and completes yearly evaluation for all APP staff as assigned by the Director, Department of Behavioral Health Advanced Practice
Oversee daily operations and workflow of APPs within assigned surgical specialty areas
Oversees department protocols and ensures employees follow these protocols for patient treatment
Analyzes job design, work processes, and workflow to identify improvement opportunities; implements changes that enhance departmental effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency while advancing organizational objectives
Performs other job‑related duties as assigned to support the Department
Qualifications Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’sdegree in science discipline or healthcare related field
Master’sdegree in nursing or equivalent master’s level education as Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant
2 years as an APP actively practicing with program management
Preferred Education and Experience:
Previous experience in related field of specialty
Management and project implementation/management
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
Current licensure by the Board of Nurse Examiners or equivalent from licensing board in the State of Texas Or Active PA License and Active PA board certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
