In this position, you will be joining a brilliant team to collaborate with Micron’s various design and verification teams all over the world, support the efforts of design verification flow development, optimization, and implementation and work with cross-functional team to assure the best cost, quality, reliability, time-to-market, and customer satisfaction

As Memory Design Group CAD Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be working in a collaborative, production support role evaluating, developing enhancing and debugging both in-house and commercial Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools and flows for the physical layout and design of CMOS integrated circuits. You will work closely with the Design, Layout teams, supporting their use of electronic design automation tools and methodologies to increase design and layout productivity and work efficiency.

Responsibilities and Tasks include, but not limited to

Developing tools, flows, and methodologies to increase the productivity and reliability of our Memory designs

Integrate commercial EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tools into design flows

Providing training, documentation, and support to end users on new tools and methods

Working closely with design, layout, verification and process teams

Track and solve issues

Undertake Independent Research and Development of Next-Generation CAD Software to Meet Product Development Needs

Identify deficiencies of current tools and flows

Understand EDA industry product offerings and trends, and opportunities for gaining performance and efficiency

Evaluate tools with internal customers

Define possible flows for improvement of efficiency and cost

Develop, maintain and support the engineering infrastructure

Maintain all aspects of design infrastructure at optimum level

Provide support and training of the design environment

Qualifications

Excellent programming fundamentals are required

Experience with Unix and shell scripting is required

Good knowledge of CMOS circuit and deep submicron physical design, as well as CMOS process manufacturing and layout rules preferred

In depth experience in the Cadence Virtuoso df2 design environment and SKILL programming preferred

In depth experience with Python and Python QT language is preferred

Experience in layout flows preferred - Calibre DRC & LVS flows, Floor planning, Automated Place and Route, SPF extraction

Experience in design simulation areas preferred - Verilog, Verilog-A, ncverilog, VCS, Spice/Fast Spice, fineSim/primesim, hspice

Good communication and problem-solving skills are required

Fluent in English and able to communicate effectively with a global team

Experience in RTL2GDS flows

Education

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering.

5+

years of industry experience is preferred.
