Director of Contracting
Location: Phoenix, AZ – Hybrid (Central/Thomas) – Healthcare Experience Required.
Position Overview:
Terros Health, a healthcare company focused on primary care and mental health & substance use treatment, is looking for a Director of Contracting to lead negotiations, manage the contract lifecycle, and build systems that strengthen sustainability, compliance, and growth.
Compensation:
Salary Range: $110,000 – $117,000 per year
Comprehensive Benefits Package

Essential Responsibilities
Negotiate payer, vendor, construction, and insurance contracts.
Lead renewals, rate strategies, amendments, and issue resolution.
Create and manage an enterprise-wide contract repository.
Track performance, report risk, and anticipate impact.
Must Have Qualifications
5+ years Arizona healthcare contracting required.
Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
Experience with reimbursement, AHCCCS/commercial plans, compliance.
Collaborative leadership style and ability to manage priorities.
Leadership & Oversight
Lead contracting function, setting direction, priorities, and expectations.
Select, train, and develop staff to maintain high performance and low turnover.
Provide coaching, accountability, and performance feedback to ensure quality and compliance.

Contract Strategy & Negotiation
Primary lead for all contract negotiations: Arizona healthcare payor, vendor/service, construction/facilities, insurance/broker/support contracts.
Analyze contract terms, reimbursement structures, fees, operational requirements; propose negotiation strategies that optimize financial/operational outcomes.
Partner with Finance on cost modeling, rate analysis, and contract impact forecasting.
Lead renegotiations and renewal cycles to strengthen position and maintain compliance.
Contract Administration & Lifecycle Management
Establish and manage an enterprise-wide contract repository with standardization, version control, and easy retrieval.
Develop and maintain a centralized tracking system for expirations, renewals, notice periods, and obligations.
Ensure timely execution of contracts, amendments, addenda, and renewals.
Collaborate with Legal to review, refine, and approve contract language.
Ensure contracts meet applicable regulatory requirements (AHCCCS, CMS, licensing, etc.).
Operational & Organizational Support
Partner with Facilities, IT, Clinical, Finance, HR, and Executive Leadership on contract needs for new services, expansions, construction projects, or operational changes.
Resolve contract-related issues with payors, vendors, and partners—escalating as appropriate.
Provide clear communication to stakeholders on contract terms, changes, deliverables, and timelines.
Develop internal processes and templates to streamline contract development and reduce risk.
Quality, Compliance & Reporting
Monitor compliance with contract obligations and performance metrics.
Track industry changes, regulatory shifts, and market trends (reimbursement and contracting).Prepare regular reports for Executive Leadership on contract status, trends, risk exposure, and negotiation outcomes.
