What You Will Be Doing Helion is seeking a Facilities Staff Engineer (Mechanical) to join our growing Facilities team. In this role, you'll be the primary engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and owning the mechanical systems that power Helion's facilities. From HVAC and utilities to specialized building systems, you'll set the standard for how our environments are designed, built, and maintained.

You’ll work closely with partners in operations, EH&S, Production and engineering to ensure our buildings are safe, reliable, and efficient. This role blends hands‑on engineering with project leadership — ideal for someone who thrives on taking complex projects from concept through completion in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment. This is an onsite role that reports directly to the Senior Manager of Facilities at our Everett, WA office.

You Will

Own the design, performance, and lifecycle of mechanical systems, including HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, exhaust, and other utilities

Establish and maintain standards for mechanical infrastructure across new and existing sites

Lead facility mechanical projects — from scope and design through construction, commissioning, and operations

Troubleshoot system issues and drive continuous improvement in reliability, sustainability, and cost efficiency

Manage contractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure quality and compliance with technical and safety requirements

Partner with EH&S to maintain compliance with codes, permitting, and environmental regulations

Contribute to long‑term facilities planning to support Helion's expansion

Required Skills

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)

5+ years of experience in facilities, building systems engineering, or mechanical infrastructure projects

Strong knowledge of HVAC, utilities, plumbing, and building automation systems

Proven ability to own projects end‑to‑end, balancing technical depth with execution

Experience collaborating with contractors, design teams, and permitting authorities

Strong communication skills and ability to partner across technical and non‑technical teams

Resourceful, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast‑moving environment

Total Compensation and Benefits Helion's compensation package includes a competitively benchmarked base salary, meaningful equity grants, and comprehensive benefits. Final compensation is determined through a holistic evaluation of your experience, qualifications, and our commitment to internal equity - ensuring fairness and transparency across our teams. We are committed to fostering a fair and equitable environment in every aspect of our operations, including compensation. This is an exempt salaried role.

Annual Base Pay

$150,000 - $190,000 USD
