Job Description
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for preparing a variety of journal entries, reconciling balance sheets and operating statement accounts, preparing monthly non‑for‑profit financial statements, participating in client month‑end reviews, completing variance analysis for multiple entities, working closely with Executive Directors to answer questions and provide supporting documentation, and supporting the overall accounting of the client accounts.
Principal Responsibilities
Prepare and record various journal entries to the general ledger for membership‑based not‑for‑profit entities
Prepare month‑end membership revenue reconciliations
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis for accounts
Review the results of client events and make necessary accounting entries
Investigate and report on variances in budget
Plan, coordinate and/or lead assigned month‑end reviews
Complete monthly, quarterly and year‑end close responsibilities
Support Finance Director in external audit
Use technology including Word, Excel, Outlook, QuickBooks Online as well as Association Management Software MemberClicks
Education & Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Accounting with 1‑3 years of experience or 5+ years of experience in a similar position
Skills and experience working with Microsoft Excel, including V‑lookups, pivot tables, etc.
