Base pay range: $70,000 - $75,000 per year.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide advice and counsel to all levels of management regarding employee relations issues and workplace concerns, including performance improvement plans and documentation of steps taken in consultation with the Chief People Officer.
Consult with employees who want to speak with Human Resources, conduct fact‑finding investigations as warranted, and prepare recommended course of action for review by the VP/Administrator and Chief People Officer. Offer mediation services to resolve workplace differences.
Maintain information systems records and employee personnel files for over 100 employees and contractors, including health information, licenses and certifications, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Coordinate employee benefits (medical, dental, vision, tuition reimbursement) and assist with benefits open enrollment. Audit monthly bills to ensure accuracy and update employee/dependent information as needed.
Administer leave of absence paperwork (FMLA, PFL, personal leave), including eligibility information, preparation of paperwork, and tracking of leaves and return‑to‑work documentation.
Lead the recruitment process: develop and update job descriptions, post positions, screen resumes, interview candidates, conduct reference checks, extend offers, and schedule new‑hire pre‑employment processing.
Primary contact for generating and routing Request for Change forms and Position Requisitions to the VP/Administrator and Chief People Officer; liaise with payroll to ensure accurate employee pay.
Ensure all new‑hire training is completed on time, including mandatory in‑service and department‑specific training.
Handle compliance monitoring (licenses/certifications, performance evaluations, I‑9, confidentiality agreements).
Coordinate and promote employee recognition events (Employee of the Month, Winter Celebration, Employee Appreciation Day, Annual Staff BBQ, Assisted Living Week).
Utilize Gurwin’s Beekeeper system for communication and team building within the community.
Stay abreast of changes to state and federal laws and Assisted Living regulations; collaborate with the Chief People Officer on policy updates.
Accept and handle additional projects as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
6‑8 years of generalist HR experience, including employee relations, benefits administration, employment law, and compensation.
Previous HR experience in a healthcare/Assisted Living setting strongly preferred.
Excellent organizational skills, highly detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; must be a critical thinker.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Handle sensitive information discreetly regarding performance and HR issues.
