We are seeking a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team focused on advancing product development and R&D projects. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing next-generation metrology systems by translating innovative concepts into mechanical designs and rapidly iterating prototypes. This position requires collaboration across various technical fields, including electrical, mechanical, optical, firmware, and software. Pay Range: $140,000- $190,000 Annually (DOE)

Role and Responsibilities:
Take ownership of key subsystems designs from concept to production release including developing concepts, creating detailed design documents, BOM’s, tolerance analysis and ECO management for document control.
Interpret and define engineering requirements, identify additional specifications and use DFMEA methods to identify and mitigate project risks.
Prepare and conduct design reviews for all phases of Product Development
Prototype procurement and vendor management of critical suppliers.
Prepare engineering test plans, build prototypes and conduct or supervise tests to validate prototype designs and analytical models.
Innovate with diverse engineering teams to innovate solutions for the semiconductor industry.
Requirements:
BS in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred); minimum 10+ years of experience in Semiconductor equipment, Metrology, measurement instrumentation, or related field
Proficient in 3D modelling best practices, detailed drawing generation and a working knowledge of GD&T
Expert in SolidWorks & SolidWorks PDM
Self-Motivated mindset, and can work independently as well as collaboratively
Demonstrated knowledge of engineering analysis and design, mechanics, and proficiency in solving engineering problems using analytical techniques and engineering knowledge such as engineering measurement methods, heat transfer, stress analysis, FEA, and system integration
Advantages:
Expertise in design of components for high vacuum (HV), ultra-high vacuum (UHV)
Experience with precision optomechanical design, X-ray optics, or E-Beam optics
Previous experience with Semiconductor Capital equipment a plus
