Job Summary The Senior Automation & Test Development Engineer will design, develop, validate, and support automated test systems, software, and tools used across global service repair depots. This role ensures test methods, fixtures, and workflows are reliable, scalable, efficient, and compliant with regulatory standards. The focus is on building robust automation and workflow solutions that enhance service efficiency, data quality, and process consistency throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities Test System Architecture & Development
Lead the design, development, and implementation of automated test systems, including hardware fixtures, software, and instrumentation.
Create automated test scripts and applications using LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, or similar frameworks.
Define test requirements, strategies, and validation approaches for new and existing methods.
Troubleshoot and optimize test systems to ensure repeatability, stability, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with Operations, R&D, and Quality teams to align test expectations, documentation, and product updates.
Standardize global service test platforms, software versions, instrumentation, and workflows; maintain training documentation.
Develop systems to capture, trend, and analyze test data for improvement opportunities.
Prepare documentation for test equipment, calibration, and verification procedures in compliance with FDA and QSR standards.
Execute validation plans for service test systems and methods.
Automation & Workflow Improvement
Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual work, simplify technician tasks, improve data integrity, and increase throughput.
Research and prototype emerging technologies such as cobots, machine vision, advanced test automation, material movement systems, and RPA solutions.
Collaborate with engineering, IT, R&D, and quality teams to integrate test systems with data pipelines, dashboards, and AI-enabled tools.
Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance test efficiency, reliability, and global standardization.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers on automation best practices.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or related field required.
5+ years of experience in test development, automation engineering, or production test engineering (medical device experience preferred).
Experience with version control, requirements documentation, and validation practices preferred.
Background in regulated environments; knowledge of FDA QSR and ISO 13485 preferred.
Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem‑solving methodologies a plus.
Experience with high‑voltage products, MES/ERP systems, and verification/validation documentation preferred.
Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI a plus.
Skills & Abilities
Expertise in automated test system design, including fixture development, instrumentation control, and sequencing.
Proficiency with LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, C#, or similar tools.
Ability to interpret schematics, product specifications, BOMs, and engineering drawings.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for electro‑mechanical and embedded systems.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering, operations, and service teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong documentation discipline (test protocols, validation reports, design files).
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
