Tech Trans Associate [Mid-level] @ Practice-Leading National Firm A premier East Coast Life Sciences Transactions practice is seeking a senior-level associate to join its Boston team. This role is built for a true life sciences deal lawyer who has already been in the driver’s seat on complex biotech/pharma collaborations and commercial transactions. The group is growing intentionally and is focused on finding someone who can step into high-responsibility work from day one.

Hybrid schedule (3 days in office) keeps the team connected without losing flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and run point on life sciences transactional matters, including biotech/pharma collaborations and strategic commercial arrangements.

Draft and negotiate principal deal documents and ancillary agreements for complex LS partnerships.

Advise clients on deal structure, risk allocation, and key business terms in fast-moving transactions.

Coordinate cross-functional deal teams and manage execution timelines from term sheet through closing.

Counsel clients on evolving market norms in biopharma collaboration, licensing, and commercialization frameworks.

Support partners in managing and expanding client relationships through excellent, business-forward lawyering.

Contribute to practice growth through mentoring junior associates and developing internal know-how.

Top Requirements

5th–7th year (or senior associate equivalent) with

deep life sciences transactional experience .

Proven track record drafting and negotiating

biotech/pharma collaboration agreements and commercial LS deals .

Must be a

true LS deal lawyer —no retools; candidates should already be running these transactions.

Strong deal leadership skills, including comfort managing process, parties, and timelines.

Excellent drafting, negotiation, and practical business judgment.

Science degree helpful but not required; LS transactional depth is the non-negotiable.

Openness to exceptional senior profiles, including certain of-counsel or highly relevant in-house candidates.
