Java Solutions Architect – Houston (Hybrid 2–3 Days Onsite)
Seeking a senior onsite Solution Architect who can take full ownership of architectural design and technical strategy for cloud-native applications. This person will act as the main onsite liaison for offshore development and QA teams as well as client stakeholders. The role demands strong hands‑on expertise in AWS, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kubernetes, CI/CD, cloud design patterns, performance engineering, and automation.
Role Overview
Lead the overall architecture for key components such as the Fee Pricing database, API services, Maintenance UI, Test Manager, Release Manager, and Salesforce/custom integrations.
Create and maintain interface control documents, data models, and system‑level documentation.
Work closely with product, QA, PMO, architecture teams, and vendor partners to ensure seamless alignment and system integration.
Oversee cloud‑native deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and release governance.
Ensure the platform meets audit, traceability, and regulatory standards.
Drive automation across testing, deployment, and configuration management.
Provide technical direction across backend, frontend, DevOps, and integration areas.
Support operations after go‑live, including monitoring, incident management, and ongoing enhancements.

Architecture & Technical Leadership
Lead end-to-end architecture for distributed, scalable cloud-native systems.
Design secure, resilient solutions using AWS services.
Build containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
Establish architectural standards, engineering best practices, and coding guidelines.
Evaluate technology choices and produce architectural artifacts such as blueprints, sequence diagrams, and deployment models.
Run design discussions, architecture reviews, and technical governance sessions.
Offshore Coordination
Act as the single onsite point of contact between the client and offshore engineering teams.
Communicate requirements, design choices, and sprint priorities clearly.
Review offshore work, resolve blockers, and ensure compliance with architectural standards.
Host daily sync‑ups, assist with backlog refinement, and maintain steady onshore–offshore collaboration.
Required Expertise Hands‑on experience with:
EKS / ECS
EC2, Auto Scaling
VPC, subnets, security groups, NACLs
Lambda
RDS, DynamoDB
S3, CloudFront
API Gateway, load balancers
IAM, Secrets Manager, KMS
Strong knowledge of:
Ingress (Nginx/ALB)
Service mesh (Istio/Linkerd preferred but optional)
CI/CD & Automation
Jenkins
GitHub Actions
Including automated deployments, gated workflows, and optimization techniques.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Experience with:
Terraform (preferred)
CloudFormation
Deep understanding of:
Microservices
CQRS
Resilience patterns (Hystrix/Resilience4j)
Retry, fallback, throttling, caching strategies
