Community Outreach & PR Manager — Data Center Campus
Job Title:
Community Outreach & Public Relations Manager
Location:
North Texas (Sulphur Springs / Dallas area) — on-site and remote as needed
Reports to:
COO / V.P. of Development (MSB Global Services)
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive community‑engagement and stakeholder outreach strategy around the data center campus project.
Serve as primary liaison to local residents, community groups, city officials, and media — respond to concerns, misinformation, and active opposition.
Draft and distribute press releases, fact‑sheets, FAQs, project updates, and other communications material explaining the project’s purpose, impact, and safeguards (e.g., water, energy, environmental impact).
Manage local media relations, schedule and coordinate interviews, site tours, public info sessions, open houses, or town‑hall meetings.
Monitor local social media/community channels for misinformation or negative sentiment; respond appropriately.
Be prepared to lead crisis communications if misinformation or negative PR escalates (e.g., protests, negative news coverage).
Build relationships with local government, civic / business associations, community‑interest groups, and possibly organize community benefit initiatives (e.g., job fairs, local hiring, educational outreach) to build goodwill.
Coordinate with external PR agencies (if retained) — manage their deliverables, local‑level oversight, and ensure alignment with company objectives and messaging.
Track and report on media coverage, public sentiment, and community feedback; advise leadership on reputation risks and mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or community outreach — ideally with experience in real estate development, infrastructure, or energy/data‑center projects.
Strong writing skills (press releases, statements, FAQs), excellent verbal communication, and public‑speaking abilities.
Familiarity with media relations, local government, and community stakeholders.
Comfortable with travel between Sulphur Springs / Dallas / project site.
Ability to explain complex technical/infrastructure issues to non‑technical community audiences.
Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and the ability to build trust with skeptical or concerned stakeholders.
Performance Metrics
Number and quality of community engagement events held
Tone and volume of media coverage (positive vs. negative)
Reduction in misinformation / negative sentiment measurable via media/social‑media monitoring
Feedback from local officials/community groups
Progress on community‑benefit commitments (e.g., local hiring, public info sessions)
Compensation / Market Pay
Base salary around US $90,000/year
