Job Description Senior Roadway Design Engineer – Nashville, TN – Hybrid schedule (remote two days a week). Lead highway and roadway design projects for public and private clients. Opportunities to work on cutting‑edge designs that use the latest technologies to improve all modes of transportation.

Responsibilities

Provide technical oversight/support

Plan and manage tasks and team members

Coordinate with other disciplines

Interact and coordinate regularly with clients and sub‑consultants on various assignments

Design roadway geometrics and intersection layouts

Develop conceptual designs

Create maintenance‑of‑traffic plans

Produce right‑of‑way and construction plans

Design drainage and erosion/sedimentation control measures

Perform other related design tasks

Build client relationships and support business development

Qualifications Minimum Requirements:

BS in Civil Engineering or related field with 6 years of related experience (or equivalent education/experience)

US citizenship (required for project nature)

Valid US driver’s license; must pass AECOM’s motor vehicle records review

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional Engineer license

Project Management experience (personnel, budget, client management)

10+ years of roadway design experience

Experience with TDOT, TN municipalities, or other state DOTs

Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

Proficiency with MicroStation/GeoPak, OpenRoads, or similar design applications

Excellent verbal and written communication, time‑management, work ethic, detail orientation, and willingness to learn

Additional Information Relocation assistance not available. Sponsorship for US employment authorization not available now or in the future. Offered rate of compensation is $115,000 to $150,000 per year, based on education, qualifications, experience, and location.
