Job Description Senior Roadway Design Engineer
Location: Nashville area office, Hybrid schedule with the opportunity to work remotely 2 days a week.
AECOM is actively seeking Senior Roadway Design Engineers to join a dynamic and highly technical team of planners, engineers, and technicians. As a Senior Roadway Design Engineer, you will lead highway and roadway design projects for a variety of clients in public and private industries. You will also have the opportunity to be part of cutting-edge design projects that utilize the latest technologies for improving all modes of transportation.
Responsibilities
Provide technical oversight/support
Plan and manage tasks and team members
Coordinate with other disciplines
Interact and coordinate regularly with clients and sub consultants in the various assignments
Design roadway geometrics
Develop intersection designs
Create conceptual development plans
Prepare Maintenance of Traffic plans
Develop Right-of-way and Construction plans
Perform drainage design
Design erosion and sedimentation control measures
Conduct quality control reviews of design deliverables
Mentor junior engineers and technicians
Participate in project meetings and presentations
Contribute to proposal development and cost estimations
Stay current with industry standards and best practices
Manage client relationships and support business development efforts
Other related design tasks as required
Qualifications - Minimum Requirements
BS Civil Engineer or related field with 6 years of related experience or equivalent experience and/or education
US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the projects
Valid US Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer License
Project Management experience – personnel, budget, and client management
10+ years of roadway design experience
Projects with TDOT, TN municipalities, or other state DOTs
Ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment
MicroStation/GeoPak and/or OpenRoads or similar design applications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good time management skills, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a strong desire to learn

Compensation: $115,000 to $150,000 annually, based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
