Position Summary The Technical Sales Specialist is a detail‑oriented and customer‑focused position that supports our sales team by handling technical sales activities, including quoting, valve and actuator sizing, bid package preparation, and order entry. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with both customers and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely project execution.

Key Duties and Essential Functions

Assist customers with valve and actuator selection, sizing, and application support to meet project requirements.

Prepare accurate and competitive quotes based on technical specifications and customer needs.

Compile and submit comprehensive bid packages, ensuring compliance with project requirements.

Process and manage order entries, verifying accuracy and resolving any discrepancies.

Work closely with outside sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.

Provide technical support and guidance to customers throughout the sales process.

Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of products, industry standards, and company policies.

Develop and nurture relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

Accompany and assist salespeople at customer sites and trade shows.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma

3–5 years working in a technical sales role

Strong technical background

Proficiency in CRM and ERP software for quoting and order management

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Proficient in using CRM software, Microsoft Office, and other related tools

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast‑paced environment

Strong analytical skills for sizing and selecting pumps based on customer specifications

Attention to detail

Strong problem‑solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in inside sales, technical sales, or applications engineering, preferably in the valve or industrial equipment industry

Experience in project management

Physical Demands

Primarily works in an office setting, requiring prolonged periods of sitting at a desk using a computer

Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents

Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching to access files or office equipment

May need to visit construction sites, which can involve walking on uneven terrain, climbing ladders, or standing for extended periods

Requires visual acuity to review detailed drawings, blueprints, and technical documents

Occasional lifting of materials, files, or equipment up to 25 pounds

Work Environment

Typically works in an office environment with standard lighting, temperature control, and minimal noise levels

May require travel to project sites, contractor offices, or client meetings

When visiting job sites, exposure to construction‑related hazards such as dust, noise, and varying weather conditions may occur

May experience occasional high‑pressure situations when meeting bid deadlines
