Product Owner II
with our large power and utilities client in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12-month contract with a potential for extension.
Pay:
$58.08 – $63.08/hr ; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment.
Description:
The Product Owner is responsible for maximizing the value delivered by the development team for a single product within the data delivery portfolio. This role focuses on enabling reliable, high‑quality data delivery to support analytics and business needs. Working closely with the Product Manager, the Product Owner translates strategic priorities into actionable backlog items, ensures alignment with architectural standards, and coordinates dependencies across teams to deliver value.
What You’ll Do: Backlog & Delivery Management
Own, refine, and prioritize the product backlog to ensure clarity and readiness for development.
Work with the Product Manager to understand business priorities and position the team to support them.
Leverage Epics to organize and outline requirements, ensuring proper specifications and stories are in place for development.
Participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, daily stand‑ups).
Monitor progress and remove impediments to keep delivery on track.
Dependency & Coordination
Identify and manage dependencies across teams and systems to ensure smooth delivery.
Collaborate with architecture to ensure alignment with enterprise standards for data governance, security, and platform usage.
Coordinate with other product teams and stakeholders to maintain integration.
Stakeholder Engagement
Engage with stakeholders to clarify requirements, validate priorities, communicate delivery progress, and validate value.
Maintain alignment with business objectives.
Documentation & Communication
Ensure Epics and related stories are well‑defined with clear definition of done.
Maintain product documentation and communicate backlog priorities and sprint goals to the team and stakeholders.
Required / Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
4 years related work experience (or HS/GED 8 years related experience)
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer & Information Science or Management Information Systems
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
Familiarity with SAFe or scaled agile environments
Experience with Jira and agile tooling
Experience working with data engineers and data delivery platforms
Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud environments
Preferred Experience
Utility industry experience
Prior role as Senior Product Analyst
Agile Product Owner certification
Six Sigma Black Belt
