Position Summary The Camp Experience Manager is responsible for assisting with the management of the camp’s day‑to‑day operations, including support and training of camp staff, development of program materials, and implementation of safety procedures.

Marine Landing Day Camp Marine Landing is a waterfront facility with a private beach. Daily activities include kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, and swimming. Every staff member must be lifeguard certified. Training is provided if needed. The camp offers a perfect setting for those comfortable in water, who enjoy outdoor summer experiences, and who want to create lasting memories.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating overall camp operations.
Work with the Camp Experience Coordinator and Outdoor Program Supervisor to ensure parent and camper satisfaction.
Ensure program schedules are prepared and implemented daily.
Assist in arranging staff assignments for weekly unit pairings.
Regularly evaluate program success and campers' skill development by analyzing surveys and feedback.
Lead camp social media efforts by creating and managing engaging content on Marine Landing’s Instagram page.
Capture photos and videos during camp activities and gather content regularly from camp cameras and staff.
Lead Extended Care programs during Before Care (6:45 am‑8:00 am) or After Care (4:30‑6:00 pm). Create and implement extended care program activities for campers outside of traditional camp hours.
Provide a safe and enjoyable program that complies with GSGLA, state, and industry standards. Adhere to all safety and security protocols and ensure protocols are followed by camp staff.
Be an inspiring role model by communicating clearly, building strong relationships, encouraging inclusivity, connecting with others, and motivating youth.
Participate as a member of the camp administrative team by supporting the planning, implementation, and evaluation of camp operations. Attend, participate in, and lead staff meetings as required.
Act as lifeguard during waterfront activities to ensure camper safety. Provide surveillance during aquatic activities and facilitate swim tests to evaluate swimming abilities of campers and staff.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be 21 years of age as required by LA County Children’s Camp Guidelines.
Must be available for 10 weeks of day camp (June 15, 2026 – August 21, 2026) and training dates scheduled prior to camp.
Must hold valid American Red Cross “Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Waterfront Skills” certification throughout the employment dates. Training will be available.
Must have documented experience teaching or interacting with youth programs.
Must submit a basic health history form as set by the American Camping Association.
Ability to spend time sitting, utilizing the computer, standing, and walking throughout the facilities.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds periodically.
Must possess endurance, including prolonged standing with some bending, stooping, and stretching.
Recommended Education, Training, and Experience
College credits in health, child development, education, psychology, or a related field.
GSGLA Employee Requirements
Comply with state‑mandated reporter training.
Attend GSGLA signature events and/or other activities as assigned.
Must successfully complete a live scan and background check.
