Our client, a global market leader in its field, is seeking an entry-level
in-house Counsel
with a strong background in
corporate law
and
complex commercial transactions
to join the company’s legal team at the U.S. headquarters in Charleston, South Carolina. This is an on-site role that is
only open to candidates located in or willing to relocate to Charleston . While the lawyer must be based in Charleston, the company offers a hybrid work schedule (3 days onsite).
Base pay range $260,000.00/yr - $280,000.00/yr

About the Role This position’s primary focus will be to
support commercial transactions
involving the company and its U.S. operating companies, which will include, for example:
drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer, vendor, supply chain/logistics, oil & gas, and commercial real estate agreements ; accurately identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks; devising practical business solutions to advance business objectives; and, advising key stakeholders on related issues and strategies.
This position will also, from time to time, assist with other assigned matters, such as those involving
Corporate Governance
(entity management),
M&A
(diligence and post-closing integrations), and
Pre-Litigation Dispute Resolution
(helping navigate and resolve pre-litigation disputes with third parties), among others.
Required Background & Experience
U.S. Juris Doctor (J.D.) earned in
2019, 2020, or 2021
( FIRM )
4–5 years of
experience in complex commercial transactions
with a
reputable law firm
Significant
first-chair experience
drafting and negotiating
complex commercial agreements
Strong analytical, communication, and project-management skills
Self-starter with a collaborative, business-oriented mindset
True team player with a dependable, flexible, and adaptable mentality and daily approach
Preferred Experience Ideal candidates will have experience drafting and negotiating contracts involving one or more of the following:
