Equipment Maintenance Technician Trainee Scope

The Equipment Maintenance Technician will have the opportunity to receive broad training on maintenance across a large heavy industrial plant. Your experience or education will mean that you will contribute immediately while receiving full training on over 600 pieces of equipment.

Extensive training is provided to safely and correctly work on each piece of equipment. The Technician will be exposed to chemicals and hazardous materials and will participate in chemical handling training and continued safety trainings. The Technician will be provided with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and will be expected to follow all safety protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair down or malfunctioning equipment

Design and implement upgrades to equipment under supervision of leads and manager

Install new equipment

Perform preventative maintenance on‑schedule

Continuously learn to properly maintain all equipment at the facility

Welding, plumbing, carpentry, and machining as needed for repairs or upgrades. Willingness to learn these skills and other skills as needed for various repairs and upgrades

Order parts

Wear proper safety equipment and consider safety in all operations

Essential Knowledge and Skills

We are particularly interested in candidates with some training in welding, carpentry, repair of pumps, or repair of hydraulics.

Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain control circuits, electrical components, and mechanical equipment

Ability to correctly and safely use basic hand power tools

Ability to safely work around hazardous chemicals

Strong attention‑to‑detail and capable of reading and following technical instructions, operation manuals, schematics, and diagrams

General computer skills and ability to complete electronic work orders, enter data into systems, order parts, and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; a computer test may be required.

Ability to prioritize multiple work orders

Able to stand throughout a shift, lift 40‑pounds, work within confined spaces, safely work on ladders, and perform work in a crouched or overhead posture

Willingness to work overtime, including weekends; regular schedule may include one or two weekend days

Maintenance technicians will be supplied with the necessary tools and equipment.

Education and Experience Education

Associate degree or technical certificate in a related field or equivalent professional experience and a high school diploma or GED.

Experience

Entry level position for those with an appropriate postsecondary degree or certificate. In general, an appropriate educational experience will include some of the experience listed below.

Equivalent experience will include some of the below skills or repair/maintenance experience on some of the below systems or components. The candidate is not expected to have experience in all of these areas; however, they will have the opportunity to learn all and should be eager to do so.

Skills: carpentry; welding; machining; plumbing, especially for chemical systems.

Systems: electrical, deionizing or reverse osmosis water treatment, waste treatment, industrial vacuum, HVAC, plasma ovens.

Components: pumps, compressors, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs.

Any other troubleshooting, repair, installation, or upgrading experience with equipment used in the printed circuit board or semiconductor manufacturing industries.

Compensation and Benefits TTM offers a variety of health and well‑being benefit programs. Benefits are available on the 1st of the month following date of hire. For some positions, only PTO and holiday benefits are offered.

Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $51,006 - $80,622. Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.

Export Statement Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
