SAP Public Sector Funds Management (FM) Consultant.
Next Ventures are currently executing search for an experienced SAP Public Sector Funds Management (FM) Consultant for an exciting new project.
Location On-site / Hybrid / Remote (as required) Eastern Europe- remote with some (Minimal ) onsite visits. (paid expenses)

Contract 12 months contract
Full-time / Contract 40 hours per week.
Role Summary The SAP FM Consultant will be responsible for designing, configuring, and implementing SAP Funds Management solutions within public-sector organizations. The role requires deep knowledge of public-sector budgeting, control mechanisms, grants, and integration with other SAP modules. The consultant ensures that financial governance, compliance, and reporting requirements are met in alignment with government or non-profit regulations.
Key Responsibilities Functional Responsibilities
Lead design, configuration, and implementation of SAP Funds Management (FM) including:
Budget structure and budget versions
Budget control system (BCS)
Budget consumption and availability control
Commitment and actual updates
Fund/Fund Center/Commitment Item master data
Derivation rules
Support blueprinting, fit-gap analysis, and solution architecture for public-sector FM.
Develop functional specifications for custom enhancements (WRICEF objects).
Conduct system testing (SIT, UAT), data migration validation, and cutover activities.
Configure integration points with related SAP modules such as:
FI/CO
MM (Purchasing)
SD
GM (Grants Management)
PSM
Work closely with finance stakeholders to interpret business requirements and transform them into SAP solutions.
Provide post-go-live support, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Ensure compliance with public-sector financial legislation, audit requirements, and reporting standards.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
Strong hands-on experience in SAP PSM-FM (Funds Management), particularly BCS.
Solid understanding of:
Budget formulation & execution
FM update profiles
Derivation strategy setup
Fiscal year management
Integration with cash management and treasury (preferred)
Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Public Sector solution capabilities (highly desirable).
Experience with SAP Fiori apps related to public sector finance.
Professional Requirements
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in SAP Funds Management or Public Sector Management.
Experience in large-scale government, NGO, or public-sector SAP implementations.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams and complex stakeholder environments.
Excellent documentation, communication, and workshop facilitation skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Desirable Certifications
SAP Certified Application Consultant – Public Sector Management or SAP S/4HANA Finance.
Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, Prince2) is a plus.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Provide input to enterprise architecture and cross-module design committees.
