Clinical Laboratory Scientist Supervisor
Pay: $70.00/hr – $80.00/hr
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8 am–4 pm (no weekend shifts)
Overview A community-based, non‑profit reproductive tissue bank in downtown Berkeley seeks a California‑licensed Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) / Technical Supervisor for a full‑time, 40‑hour week. The role offers excellent pay and benefits.
Responsibilities
Provide technical supervision for the lab and oversee one lab assistant/phlebotomist
Perform semen analysis, morphology, and process samples for freezing
Co‑manage the lab with the Lab Operations Supervisor
Ensure compliance with CLIA regulations, QC, QA, and maintenance of lab equipment, including semen analyzers
Update licensing and contribute to various technical or management duties as assigned
Report directly to the Executive Director and participate in the Management Team
Qualifications
Valid California CLS license (no consideration without a current license)
5+ years of experience as a licensed CLS with strong bench skills
Experience with CLIA, FDA, and/or CA DPH regulations is highly desirable
Prior experience in a reproductive health or andrology lab, specifically with semen analysis and morphology, is strongly preferred
Solid background in lab oversight, quality control, and quality assurance
Attention to detail and focus on quality
General lab skills (light microscopes, centrifuges, accurate labeling, lab documentation, infection control)
Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with experience writing lab procedures
Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and handle time‑sensitive responsibilities
Excellent customer service skills for working with sperm donors and storage clients
Ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels
Must be a United States Citizen to apply
