Responsibilities
- Lead advisor and accounting expert for a portfolio of GovCon clients
- Oversee full-cycle accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, GL, month-end close
- Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, variance analyses
- Develop budgets, forecasts, indirect rate models, cash flow projections
- Guide and mentor junior staff, ensuring quality and consistency across deliverables
- Support year-end reporting, 1099s, audits, DCAA compliance
- Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls
- Communicate directly with client executives, providing strategic insights and updates
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- CPA or MBA
- 8–10+ years of accounting experience in government contracting
- Management experience leading and developing team members
- Unanet or Deltek software experience
- Strong grasp of GAAP, FAR, and cost accounting standards
- Proven leadership in client relationships and project management
- Experience in boutique firms or consulting environments a plus
