As Senior Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, you’ll play a pivotal role in guiding multi‑year budgeting, capital planning, and performance management. Partnering with senior leadership, you’ll deliver data‑driven insights and innovative financial models that empower strategic decision‑making and ensure operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Lead the development and improvement of enterprise‑wide financial models to support multi‑year budgeting, capital planning, and performance management.
Provide actionable insights through data‑driven analysis, sensitivity testing, and forecasting to guide strategic decision‑making across the School of Medicine.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align financial goals with institutional priorities, ensuring operational efficiency and fiscal accountability.
Work closely with the Controller, Assistant Dean of Data Analytics and Business Intelligence, and the SOM Finance team to provide strategic planning analytics supporting overall SOM financial operations.
Partner with senior leadership to deliver data‑driven insights and innovative financial models that empower strategic decision‑making and ensure operational excellence.
Work Arrangement Hybrid
Anticipated Pay Range Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $111,129.00 to USD $222,260.00. Duke University considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. Your total compensation goes beyond the dollars on your paycheck. Minimum Qualifications
Education/Training – Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience – Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
Preferred: Candidates with an MBA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant). Financial experience in a complex academic medical center or higher education is preferred. Experience with Duke University or other enterprise reporting systems (e.g., SAP, A40) to support financial and analytical reporting is also preferred.
