Capitol Valley Electric is a nationally recognized electrical contractor based in Sacramento, California. We work on Multi‑Family, Commercial, Industrial, and Utility Scale Solar projects.

Overview We are hiring a Construction Project Manager for our Utility Scale Solar projects.

Responsibilities

Create and manage project budgets.

Understand owner’s contract requirements and develop contracts, bonds, fees, schedules, and costs.

Develop and complete monthly projected final cost and labor cost reports.

Lead pre‑construction activities, procure subcontractors, and manage through construction.

Collaborate with pre‑construction team to prepare, review, and monitor all cost information.

Manage subcontractor relationships, including scope and proposal reviews, final proposals, and compliance with Minority Business Entity requirements.

Develop project timelines with developer, subcontractors, municipal entities, equipment suppliers, and site‑specific construction suppliers.

Schedule site security, subcontractors, equipment delivery, utility interconnections, and services.

Conduct preconstruction meetings with site host, customer, subcontractors, authority having jurisdiction (AHJ), and utility.

Implement OSHA‑approved site safety plans with subcontractors and conduct daily site safety meetings.

Schedule and oversee inspections by AHJ and utility.

Coordinate and deliver all requirements to meet subcontractor and supplier schedules.

Maintain project schedule, milestone dates, commissioning, and close‑out checklists.

Provide all close‑out documentation to the customer at project completion.

Establish relationships and communication tools with suppliers and key personnel to verify material and equipment availability.

Ensure site security and a safe work environment through safety and loss‑prevention programs, equality employment, risk management, training, and quality control.

Qualifications

Four‑year degree in engineering, construction management or related field, or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 8 years project management experience in the renewable energy industry.

Ability to plan, develop and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

Knowledge of electrical theory, National Electric Code, and California building and electrical codes.

Ability to price change orders independently and manage project schedules.

Deep knowledge of major equipment such as transformers, inverters, switchgear, substations, energy storage, packaged power systems, and solar modules.

Understanding of medium to large‑scale solar systems (1 MW–50 MW) and SCADA, grid line, underground reticulation, and power bank principles.

Strong organizational, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions & foster a cooperative work environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction software such as Procore, Helioscope, and PVsyst.

Job Type: Full‑time Pay range: 135 k – 160 k annually (negotiable)
