The Maintenance & Housekeeping Director oversees all physical operations of the Jeff Rouse Swim & Sports Center, including facility maintenance, housekeeping and sanitation, aquatics systems, and concessions/kitchen equipment. This leader ensures the building, grounds, and equipment remain clean, safe, and fully operational for members, guests, and staff. The Director manages maintenance and housekeeping teams, coordinates with vendors, and ensures compliance with health, safety, and operational standards.
Compensation $50,000 - $55,000/year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Facility Maintenance
Oversee repair and maintenance of all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool mechanical systems, and fitness equipment.
Manage a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
Supervise vendors and contractors performing facility work.
Conduct regular facility inspections and maintain accurate maintenance logs.
Housekeeping Operations
Lead and schedule the housekeeping team to maintain cleanliness throughout pool areas, locker rooms, fitness spaces, restrooms, lobbies, and offices.
Develop cleaning and sanitation protocols aligned with industry best practices.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Aquatics Facility Support
Oversee the operation and maintenance of pool mechanical systems, pumps, filtration equipment, UV/chemical feed systems, and water chemistry.
Ensure compliance with health codes and coordinate with the Aquatics Director to maintain safe and consistent pool conditions.
Concessions & Kitchen Equipment
Oversee maintenance, cleaning schedules, and safe operation of all concessions and café/kitchen equipment, including:
Refrigerators, freezers, coolers
Ovens, warmers, fryers, dishwasher
Ice machines, beverage dispensers, and POS-adjacent equipment
Ventilation and fire suppression systems (hood systems)
Perform or coordinate routine and preventive maintenance for food-service equipment.
Ensure compliance with local health department standards and food safety codes.
Partner with concessions management to support equipment needs during events, tournaments, and daily operations.
Maintain service records and arrange repairs with certified food-service technicians when necessary.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure OSHA compliance and maintain safety procedures for all maintenance, housekeeping, aquatics, and concessions environments.
Conduct safety audits and ensure proper chemical handling, PPE use, and lockout/tagout procedures.
Oversee emergency systems including fire alarms, AEDs, evacuation routes, and lighting.
Leadership & Administration
Recruit, train, and supervise maintenance and housekeeping staff.
Manage department budgets and purchase supplies and replacement parts.
Create and enforce policies that support a high-quality member experience.
Collaborate with internal teams for events, tournaments, and daily facility needs.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in facility maintenance, housekeeping management, operations, or a related field.
Experience with aquatics facilities and pool systems strongly preferred.
Experience maintaining concessions/café or commercial kitchen equipment required.
Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
Demonstrated leadership and staff management experience.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings/weekends for events or emergencies.
Preferred Certifications
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO)
Food-service equipment safety certification or experience with commercial kitchen systems
OSHA safety training
CPR/AED/First Aid

Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders, work in mechanical spaces, and perform manual maintenance tasks.
Comfortable working around aquatics environments and kitchen equipment.
