Job Summary
The Maintenance Specialist II will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities, including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.
Primary Job Functions
Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair.
Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician, such as repairing drywall, painting, and fixing doors and other building fixtures.
Maintain and repair building structures and their mechanical, electrical, and sanitary systems throughout the buildings.
Assist co‑workers with maintenance of Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry, and CEP.
Adhere to safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs as needed.
Communicate effectively and respectfully with employees, supervisors, and visitors.
Assist licensed trades personnel and perform Utility or General Clerk duties.
Train new staff and prepare biohazard waste for transportation.
Perform moving and relocating of furniture or office equipment; work evenings, weekends, or off‑hours as required.
Read gauges and meters.
Working Conditions
Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop, kneel, climb a ladder, stand for long periods, and make constant arm extensions.
Occasional exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, and chemicals; minor safety hazards may occur.
Busy environment with frequent interruptions and schedule changes.
Must pass a local background check and obtain and maintain NAC/LAC clearance after hire.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Three (3) years of experience in general maintenance/repair techniques.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
Knowledge of general carpentry, mechanical, and/or electrical repair.
Use hand tools and power tools.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Follow HIPAA privacy guidelines when handling protected health information.
