Accounting Manager If you crave an opportunity to lead, execute, and improve core accounting operations while working with a mission-driven, collaborative nonprofit team, then read on. This position is a key member of a finance organization undergoing meaningful process and system transformation.

Responsibilities

Manage and mentor a small accounting team, serving as both a people leader and hands‑on contributor.

Oversee GL accounting and full financial reporting cycle, including month‑end close, AR/AP, payroll, and intercompany activity across nine entities.

Coordinate annual audit and tax activities.

Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.

Prepare board materials and present financials quarterly, taking this responsibility off the VP’s plate.

Support delegation of responsibilities and structure within an evolving finance team.

Lead the transition from Great Plains to Sage Intacct and drive process improvement throughout the organization.

Who you are

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.

Prior nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred.

A manager who is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves and executing day‑to‑day work.

Experienced with or excited to lead a financial system implementation (Sage Intacct experience a plus).

Adaptable, process‑improvement minded, and confident driving change.

A strong communicator who can interact with leadership and present financial insights.

Compensation Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and geographic location. The expected range for this role is around

$145,000

base salary, with potential flexibility pending leadership approval. Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
