Purpose:

The Superintendent serves as the chief executive officer and educational leader of Osawatomie Unified School District 367, responsible for the effective leadership, management, and performance of all district programs, services, and schools. The Superintendent works under the direction of the USD 367 Board of Education to advance the districts mission and ensure high-quality educational experiences for all students.

Contract Length:

260 Days | July 1 - June 30

Salary:

As set by USD 367 Board of Education

Benefits:

Fringe Benefits as scheduled by the Board of Education 10 Vacation Days per year, un-accumulative 14 Personal Days per year, accumulative to 110 days

Required Qualifications

Masters Degree or higher from an accredited college/university.

QualificationsCurrent Kansas State Licensure with District Leadership endorsement.

Three or more years of successful educational leadership experience in building level leadership with district level experience preferred.

Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the central office.

A valid driver's license, be able to drive, and qualify under the districts insurance carrier when driving a district vehicle.

Desire to continue professional growth.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Governance Provide visionary leadership that supports student achievement, district improvement, and a positive culture across USD 367. Supervise and direct all district operations, personnel, and instructional programs. Meet regularly with the USD 367 Board of Education to report on district progress, advise on matters of concern, and recommend appropriate policy and operational action. Provide the Board with accurate data, professional analysis, and recommendations to support effective governance and long-range planning. Interpret and implement Board policies and decisions, ensuring consistent communication to staff, students, families, and community stakeholders. Strategic & Operational Management Define district goals, objectives, expectations, and systems to ensure effective administration and strong educational outcomes in USD 367. Evaluate educational, staffing, instructional, and facility needs and recommend strategies to meet both current demands and future growth. Oversee personnel processes by authorizing final recommendations to the Board regarding hiring, assignment, transfer, promotion, suspension, or dismissal in accordance with Kansas statutes, KSDE regulations, and USD 367 Board policy. Lead the preparation, presentation, and administration of the districts annual budget, ensuring fiscal accountability and alignment with district priorities. Guide and evaluate innovative, pilot, or experimental initiatives that support the continuous improvement of USD 367 programs and services. Communication & Community Engagement Implement and maintain open, transparent, and effective communication systems to build trust and support among students, staff, families, and the Osawatomie community. Serve as the official spokesperson of USD 367 and represent the district at community events, professional organizations, and public forums. Advocate for USD 367s interests within the Kansas Legislature and remain actively involved in state and regional educational organizations.

college transcripts

a photocopy of teaching certificate or letter explaining status of the teaching certificate

Administration will contact selected applicants to schedule a screening interview

Upon the completion of the interview process, candidates must complete the districts background screening process before being presented to the Board of Education for approval.
