Attorney (Program) II – First Circuit Court, Administrative Services Division (Honolulu, O'ahu)
Salary:
$6,535 to $8,945 per month
Summary of duties:
The Rule 40 Staff Attorney is assigned to the Criminal Administrative Judge of the First Circuit Court who oversees criminal cases in the First Circuit. The Staff Attorney focuses on Rule 40 of the Hawaii Rules of Penal Procedures and conducts in-depth legal research, analyzes complex legal issues, and drafts comprehensive legal memoranda and proposed rulings to the Criminal Administrative Judge, the multiple criminal divisions of the First Circuit, the criminal assignments branch of the First Circuit, and related criminal division issues within the First Circuit Administration; and performs other duties as required.
Family Court Attorney – First Circuit Court, Office of the Chief Court Administrator (Kapolei, O'ahu) Salary:
$6,535 to $8,945 per month
Summary of duties:
This position provides legal and policy support to the Family Courts statewide. It serves as a legal advisor to the Board of Senior Family Court Judges and Directors, conducting legal research, drafting opinions, and developing policies and procedures to ensure statewide consistency. The position also coordinates legislative efforts for the Family Courts, including drafting bills and testimony, monitoring and analyzing legislation, disseminating updates, responding to legislative inquiries, and implementing new laws through policy and form development. Additionally, this position assists with revising and updating the Hawai'I Family Court Rules and serves as the First Circuit Family Court Custodian of Records. Duties include responding to subpoenas duces tecum in coordination with the Deputy Attorney General, assisting with updates to the Hawai'I Family Court Records Retention Policy, advising staff on compliance with the policy, and performing other related duties as assigned.

$6,043 to $8,273 per month
Summary of duties:
This Attorney position is responsible for providing legal advice, guidance, recommendations, and technical support services to the Chief Court Administrator, Chief Judge, Judges, and administrators of the Fifth Circuit Court. The position may also assist with handling mortgage foreclosure and other specific case types under the Fifth Circuit's jurisdiction; and provide staff specialist services to the Chief Court Administrator which supports the initiatives of the Judiciary, the Fifth Circuit's court operations and programs; and performs other related duties as assigned.
