Position Overview The National Account Director (NAD), Payers will lead and manage key national and sub‑national payer accounts including health insurance companies, PBMs, Medicare, state Medicaid, and large IDNs. The role involves building strong relationships with medical and pharmacy departments, executing account strategies, and providing cross‑functional support to the sales team. A deep understanding of managed markets, reimbursement, and payer account management is essential. The position reports to the Vice President, Market Access and is based remotely.

Essential Duties

Build and deepen relationships with target payers and key decision makers influencing coverage and reimbursement.

Influence policies, guidelines, and contracts to secure timely coverage and reimbursement for Tonix products.

Develop account‑specific plans and resolve access/reimbursement issues.

Collaborate with the MSL team to communicate drug candidates and approved products to payers.

Partner with Patient Services to support the patient journey and address coverage problems.

Assist Regional Sales teams with pull‑ or sell‑through strategies based on payer coverage.

Represent Tonix at industry events such as Asembia and AMCP.

Maintain professional, compliant, and ethical conduct in all interactions.

Necessary Skills and Abilities

Self‑starter capable of developing account plans, meeting deadlines, and achieving launch goals.

Strong negotiator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Creative, strategic thinker and problem solver who can execute sound account strategies.

Business acumen with a proven record of facilitating timely access for therapies through productive contract negotiations.

Ability to work cross‑functionally to proactively and reactively address access barriers.

Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other standard office tools.

Up to 75% travel may be required.

Educational and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.

Advanced degree (Master’s, Ph.D., or PharmD) preferred.

10+ years of biotech/pharma experience with payer understanding and experience.

Experience with 505(b)(2) products and migraine therapies.

Expertise in market access, pharmacy and medical benefit designs, commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare (FFS and managed).

Government/federal experience preferred.
