Benaiah Consulting Group
Senior Tax Manager – Future Tax Director
Remote
with preference for candidates within 2–4 hours of Dallas
You’ve built your technical skills and managed teams.
Now you’re ready for your next move—one where you’re not just another cog in the machine but a key player shaping the future of a firm doing things differently.
Our client is a modern, fast-growing CPA firm delivering tax strategy, outsourced accounting, and year-round advisory to SMB entrepreneurs across the U.S. They’re not a traditional accounting shop, and this role is not a traditional tax manager position.
It’s a high-visibility leadership seat with a clear path to Tax Director by year-end. If you’re tired of tax season chaos, chasing clients, and being siloed from strategy, this may redefine your career trajectory.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading the execution of business and individual tax engagements, especially 1120S, 1065, and related 1040s.
Managing the full tax lifecycle—strategy, compliance, planning, and advisory—with support from a hybrid team, including offshore preparers.
Overseeing and evolving systems and workflows (Karbon + ProConnect).
Coaching and mentoring tax staff while holding the team accountable for performance and process.
Providing clients with strategic insight to support growth, mitigate risk, and maximize outcomes.
Building strong relationships across the accounting, finance, and wealth teams to deliver holistic planning solutions.
Acting as the internal integrator and future tax leader, bridging the gap between vision and execution.
What We’re Looking For
CPA, EA, or JD designation required.
7+ years of recent public accounting experience, ideally with a mid to large-sized firm.
Deep expertise in partnership and S-Corp taxation, along with complex structures and high-net-worth individuals.
Prior experience managing a remote and overseas team.
Proven leadership ability and a high standard of operational execution.
Strong communication skills and an ability to lead with clarity, structure, and accountability.
Experience with Karbon and Intuit ProConnect is a plus.
This Role Is for You If You…
Are energized by growth, systems, and leadership—not just cranking out returns.
Enjoy being part of a driven, high-performing culture that values excellence, solving complex client problems while balancing the personal lives of your staff/team with laser-like intentionality.
Prefer action and ownership over titles and red tape.
Have the maturity and humility to lead with EQ, not ego.
Want to help build something meaningful—not just work a job.
Why This Matters It’s about stepping into a firm rewriting the rules of public accounting and taking a leadership role in that journey. You’ll shape process, lead people, and influence outcomes. If you’re the right fit, you’ll step into the Tax Director seat before year’s end.
