Category Manager
Location: Atlanta, GA.

This role is responsible for managing the development and implementation of procurement sourcing strategies end to end, including supplier management, supplier investigation and selection, managing cost of operations within a defined category of the supply chain, establishing standard costs, developing and executing cost reduction strategies, analyzing market indices and negotiating pricing based on relevant cost drivers, forecasting cost impacts, leading commercial negotiations with suppliers, and problem‑solving supply issues and recommending actions. The manager fosters collaborative relationships with cross‑functional departments to ensure actionable interactions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Lead and develop sourcing, category, and procurement strategies for direct categories focused on mechanical areas, including cost reduction initiatives, on‑time delivery and quality improvements, supplier performance, and supplier consolidation/rationalization supporting manufacturing and field operations.
Understand total spend, pricing structure, commercial terms and trends for raw materials, purchased finished products, and manufactured assemblies with particular knowledge of market dynamics and supply chain in electronics.
Develop strategic electronics category roadmaps, identifying and developing new suppliers for potential savings capture and new product development opportunities.
Monitor overall supplier performance with assigned categories and develop & implement corrective action and recovery plans as required alongside Supplier Quality Engineering.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration is required; Master’s/MBA preferred.
10+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, and relevant category experience in direct spend, focusing on mechanical domains.
Ability to interact and negotiate with key suppliers and internal stakeholders on key contracts and services within complex and ever‑changing environments.
Certifications: Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or PMP desired.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio), SAP, Oracle and/or Ariba.
Deep understanding of strategic sourcing and procurement processes and strategies.
Ability to work with ambiguous data and transform it into a clear story used for analysis and decision‑making.
