This role is responsible for managing the development and implementation of procurement sourcing strategies end to end, including supplier management, investigation, and selection. The role involves managing costs within a specific supply chain category, establishing standard costs, developing and executing cost reduction strategies, analyzing market indices, and negotiating pricing based on relevant cost drivers. The manager will forecast cost impacts, lead all commercial negotiations with suppliers, and resolve supply issues by recommending appropriate actions. Additionally, the role requires fostering relationships with cross-functional departments to ensure collaborative and actionable interactions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Lead and develop sourcing, category, and procurement strategies for direct categories focused on mechanical areas. This includes cost reduction initiatives, improving on-time delivery and quality, monitoring supplier performance, and consolidating or rationalizing suppliers to support manufacturing and field operations.
Understand total spend, pricing structures, commercial terms, and market trends for raw materials, finished products, and manufactured assemblies, particularly within the electronics sector. Develop strategic electronics category roadmaps, identify and develop new suppliers for potential savings and new product development opportunities. Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed in collaboration with Supplier Quality Engineering.
Who we are looking for
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration is required; Master’s/MBA is preferred. 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and relevant category management in direct spend, with a focus on mechanical domains. Ability to negotiate with key suppliers and internal stakeholders in complex, dynamic environments. Certifications such as Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or PMP are desired. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio), SAP, Oracle, and/or Ariba is required. Deep understanding of strategic sourcing and procurement processes and strategies. Ability to analyze ambiguous data and translate it into clear insights for decision-making.
