Job Description Overview

Oracle GDI – Government, Defense & Intelligence is hiring a Senior Cloud Solution Architect to lead presales technical and functional support activities for prospective clients and customers. The role requires a passion for technology, cloud concepts, system integration, and cloud migrations, with a strong focus on customer engagement and solution design in a rapidly growing, cloud‑based environment.

Responsibilities

Engage with strategic and complex customers, building leadership relationships at multiple levels to understand strategic goals and design solutions to achieve them.

Embed with customers to comprehend systems, gather requirements, develop architectures, and translate mission needs into solutions. Assist with solution implementation, ensuring successful deployments through code development and scripting.

Demonstrate product/application understanding through highly customized presentations and demonstrations to customers, conferences, and events.

Support customers from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment via resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training.

Significantly contribute to technical responses for solicitations (RFI, RFQ, RFP, whitepapers).

Provide leadership and expertise in developing new solutions, products, and processes, staying current on emerging technologies.

Act as an acknowledged authority for customers and sales on technical cloud solutions and customer success.

Identify gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps.

Communicate technical information clearly through presentations, demonstrations, written communication, and consultative solutioning.

Travel up to 50% (STL).

Required Qualifications

MUST have experience working with the Federal Government.

Knowledge and experience with public cloud providers (Oracle, AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud methodologies.

Lead in-depth discovery sessions that result in business process workflows and architecture diagrams.

Re‑architect systems to cloud‑native architectures.

Experience with cloud, hybrid, and multi‑cloud architectures, including full and split‑stack deployments.

Experience sizing and pricing hardware, software, and cloud requirements.

Strong understanding of IaaS components: networking, VPNs, firewalls, IAM, containers, orchestration (K8s), and encryption.

Strong understanding of Modern Data Platform architectures (structured, unstructured, semi‑structured ingestion, integration, security, pipelines, federation, analytics).

Experience monitoring performance of infrastructure through monitoring and alerting tools.

Experience designing resilient/redundant architectures to meet COOP, RTO/RPO requirements.

Must possess or be able to obtain a Federal Security Clearance – must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

Hands‑on experience with Oracle hardware (Exadata) and software (Oracle Database 19c).

Solution Architect and/or Developer Certification on Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Salary and Benefits US: Hiring Range – $141,800 to $232,200 per year. Eligible for equity, compensation deferral, and commission mix of 70/30.
