Position Summary

The Staff Engineer – Site Reliability Engineer will support CVS Health PCW Digital organization’s vision to deliver transformative applications and technology platform services. This role partners with key stakeholders including Engineering, Architecture and Product to establish and adopt architectural best practices, guidelines and standards toward providing resilient systems with superior customer experience. The staff engineer will evangelize, mentor and coach teams across SRE and Front‑Line Ops on best practices of observability, monitoring and SOPs. Key Objectives and Responsibilities

Partner with architects, development teams, product teams and business owners to ensure implementations are architected and designed from the perspective of production resiliency. Work closely with engineering teams during design, build and perform infrastructure upgrades to support application availability and reliability. Real‑time troubleshoot mission‑critical application workflows and incorporate feedback into product development. Develop tools, frameworks and instrumentation to validate and increase rollout success for applications. Required Qualifications

At least 7 years of professional software development experience with a minimum of 5 years in Site Reliability or DevOps Engineering and building observability frameworks. 5 years of experience in enterprise‑level infrastructure management, application performance tuning and building AIOps. 5 years of experience with logging‑as‑a‑service components and ability to automate or build dashboards on Splunk, Loki or Logstash on both Grafana & Kibana stacks. 5 years of experience managing application availability, building creative solutions to manage repetitive activities, improve gating and detect for applications at every touchpoint for a 24×7 high‑availability platform exposed to critical clients and customers. 3 years of extensive experience with observability and AIOps tools such as Datadog, Grafana stack, Dynatrace and AppDynamics. 3 years of experience with debugging across a variety of integrated technical platforms on API gateway. 3 years of experience with Java, Python, JavaScript, React or NodeJS. 3 years of experience with tools like Rally, Confluence and other CI/CD extenders. 3 years of experience writing automation scripts and building dashboards for application performance management to manage transaction journeys. 3 years of experience with proof of concepts and implementation for automation tools that help teams in the development cycle, such as automate testing for business use cases and developing API proxies and shared flows. 3 years of experience utilising GCP components such as GKE, Stackdriver, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Cloud Memorystore, Cloud Storage and Cloud Run. 3 years of experience transitioning platforms to the cloud and containerisation – GCP, AWS and/or Rancher (or CloudFormation, Azure and OpenShift). Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in Agile and challenging environments with a large enterprise. Working knowledge of one or more databases – Oracle, SQL Server, MS‑SQL, PostgreSQL, Spanner DB and MongoDB. Extensive experience in Apollo GraphQL, Gateway or similar technologies. Hands‑on experience with implementing in‑memory caching solutions; experience with Redis is a plus. Experience in Kubernetes and Istio service mesh is a plus. Experience building Agentic AI, configuring LLMs such as Google Gemini, Mistral, Llama, Qwen, Open‑AI GPT or Hermes. Good business acumen and communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent at problem solving and organisational skills. Education

Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience). Business Overview

The typical pay range for this role is $118,450.00 – $236,900.00. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range. The position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program. Benefits
