Project Architect / Project Manager – PK‑12 Education Location: Denver, CO (RiNo). This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, CO.

Overview We are seeking a Project Architect/Project Manager with 10+ years of experience to support PK‑12 educational projects. You will manage projects from initial concept through construction documentation, ensuring quality and consistency throughout the process.

Responsibilities

Manage projects through all phases: concept design, schematic design, construction documentation, and construction administration.

Lead project planning, scheduling, and budgeting, ensuring adherence to timelines and financial targets.

Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to maintain clear communication and ensure seamless project delivery.

Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment.

Develop innovative design solutions aligned with client requirements and market trends.

Review and approve design documents for constructability, cost efficiency, and compliance with zoning regulations and building codes.

Organize and maintain accurate drawing sets; assist with Revit documentation and oversee technical details.

Prepare and review specifications; research materials, finishes, and products.

Communicate with client representatives to confirm design requirements, review progress, and deliver presentations.

Coordinate with public agencies and manage approvals, permits, and scope adjustments as needed.

Conduct site visits to monitor progress and verify compliance with design intent.

Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and issue revisions as necessary.

Ensure clarity, compliance, and completeness of construction documents throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

Minimum 10+ years of experience as an architect or designer in a professional firm.

NAAB‑accredited architecture degree (B.Arch or M.Arch).

Architecture license (or close to obtaining).

Extensive K‑12 project experience, including leadership roles (Project Architect or similar) and technical involvement within the last 5 years.

Strong knowledge of construction documentation and construction administration.

In‑depth understanding of residential and commercial construction, zoning and building codes, specifications, and building/engineering systems.

Expertise in materials, detailing, and systems coordination.

Strong problem‑solving skills for complex coordination issues.

Ability to work collaboratively and professionally.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp.

Hand drawing skills, experience with Lumion, and BIM expertise are a plus.

Authorized to work in the U.S.

Work Environment

Hybrid schedule: In‑office for the first 6 months, then 4‑6 remote days per month.

Firm based in RiNo, Denver.
