Job Description: We are seeking a Project Architect/Project Manager with 10+ years of experience to support PK-12 educational projects. In this role, you will manage projects from initial concept through construction documentation, ensuring quality and consistency throughout the process. You will organize drawing sets, assist with Revit documentation, and coordinate with consultants to deliver successful outcomes. Responsibilities include attending client meetings, visiting project sites, and collaborating with all stakeholders to maintain project timelines and standards.

Candidates must have experience working on commercial ground-up projects and possess a strong background in PK-12 projects, including technical design and documentation. Ideally, you have held leadership roles on PK-12 projects within the last 5 years. Licensure is required or candidates should be close to obtaining licensure.

Responsibilities: Project Leadership & Coordination

Manage projects through all phases: concept design, schematic design, construction documentation, and construction administration

Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to maintain clear communication and ensure seamless project delivery

Lead project planning, scheduling, and budgeting, ensuring adherence to timelines and financial targets

Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment

Design & Technical Oversight

Develop innovative design solutions aligned with client requirements and market trends

Review and approve design documents for constructability, cost efficiency, and compliance with zoning regulations and building codes

Organize and maintain accurate drawing sets; assist with Revit documentation and oversee technical details

Research materials, finishes, and products; prepare and review specifications

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

Communicate with client representatives to confirm design requirements, review progress, and deliver presentations

Coordinate with public agencies and manage approvals, permits, and scope adjustments as needed

Construction Administration

Conduct site visits to monitor progress and verify compliance with design intent

Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and issue revisions as necessary

Ensure clarity, compliance, and completeness of construction documents throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications:

Minimum 10+ years of experience as an architect or designer in a professional firm

NAAB‑accredited architecture degree (B.Arch or M.Arch)

Architecture license (or close to obtaining)

Extensive K‑12 project experience, including leadership roles (Project Architect or similar) and technical involvement within the last 5 years

Strong knowledge of the design process, construction documentation, and construction administration

In‑depth understanding of residential and commercial construction, zoning and building codes, specifications, and building/engineering systems

Expertise in materials, detailing, and systems coordination

Ability to work collaboratively and professionally, with strong problem‑solving skills for complex coordination issues

Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp

Hand drawing skills, experience with Lumion, and BIM expertise are a plus

Authorized to work in the U.S.

Work Environment: This firm is based in RiNo. They offer a hybrid schedule with 4–6 remote days per month.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, CO.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $46.00/hr.
