Overview Our client, a leading medical device company, is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their Acute Care & Monitoring team. This role focuses on developing embedded software for next-generation patient monitoring products. The successful candidate will collaborate with a local software architect and a remote team of developers and test engineers to implement features that help improve and save patient lives. Their products are deployed in care facilities globally, collecting critical patient data to ensure caregivers can make informed decisions quickly.
Primary Duties
Implement software features for new and existing patient monitoring products
Investigate, reproduce, and resolve software defects
Perform discovery and development work for new features
Write clean, well-documented, high-quality code with accompanying unit tests
Collaborate with cross-functional team members in test, systems, and infrastructure
Create technical documentation to share knowledge about software implementations
Participate in Agile ceremonies including standup, planning, and retrospective meetings
Conduct and participate in peer code reviews and feature grooming sessions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field
2+ years of embedded software development experience
Proficiency in C# application development
Unit testing experience
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Team-oriented with a willingness to learn new technologies
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing software for medical devices/products
Knowledge of cybersecurity and secure coding practices
Experience building IEC 62304 compliant software
