Purpose of Job

To create positive memories for all who touch DQ and OJ. To oversee entire restaurant operations including financial performance, product production, inventory, personnel, sales, and marketing. To ensure the restaurant is operated within guidelines established by the owner and franchisor. To set high standards and create a great environment for the team to work.

Essential Functions

Operations

Strive for operational levels that meet or exceed fan expectations in quality, service, and atmosphere, creating value through an excellent experience and fair price.

Training

Ensure that every member of management and crew is trained and fully knowledgeable on all PRIDE systems and routines, product recipes, food safety practices, and restaurant safety practices.

Integrate all PRIDE systems and routines into day‑to‑day operations, setting each shift up for success.

Business Planning

Execute the restaurant’s business plan with direct support from the District Supervisor.

Manage profit & loss to optimize sales and profit, analyze COGS, maintain inventory, project demand changes, adjust labor, and enforce cash control/security procedures. Prepare financial and sales forecasts, review reports for variances, and establish financial controls.

Develop and implement strategies to increase average meal checks and fan visit frequency.

Fan Service

Ensure fan service meets or exceeds company standards.

Set standards for the management team and crew to handle customer concerns.

Address complaints promptly and document follow‑up in the Tell Us About Us database, turning dissatisfied customers into return fans.

Resolve workflow bottlenecks to maintain speed of service.

Build relationships with returning or preferred patrons.

Team Member Leadership

Hire, train, coach, and develop a highly skilled and productive management team and hourly crew.

Provide thorough training and new‑hire orientations, communicate expectations, monitor performance, and give ongoing feedback.

Schedule staff to drive sales, meeting staffing needs for different day parts and seasonal demands while maintaining labor goals.

Conduct formal performance appraisals.

Model and enforce policies and procedures.

Maintain a positive working relationship with all staff to promote morale, productivity, and efficiency.

Health and Safety Standards

BECOME SERVSAFE® certified or have an approved equivalent.

Prioritize Food Safety training and enforce hand washing, product rotation, temperature logging, and safe handling.

Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by enforcing sanitation standards and complying with all health and legal regulations.

Train staff on emergency response and lead in the event of incidents such as workers’ comp accidents or robberies.

Store Marketing

Attract new fans and increase sales by developing and implementing local, regional, and national marketing promotions and activities.

Conduct advertising, public, and community relations, evaluate competitor marketing, track program results, and identify changing consumer demands.

Required Qualifications Experience Needed

Minimum 1–3 years of restaurant management experience with responsibility for profit & loss (previous quick service experience strongly preferred).

High school diploma or equivalent.

Proven track record of managing COGS and labor.

ServSafe® certified or approved equivalent.

Skills and Competencies Needed

Trainer and coach – ability to teach restaurant routines and systems and engage effectively with customers and crew.

Management skills – excellent coaching, employee development, and conflict resolution with a positive store environment.

Organization and goal focus – highly organized, detail‑oriented, able to oversee multiple areas simultaneously in fast‑paced environment.

Technical – proficiency with computers and point‑of‑sale systems.

Flexibility and adaptability – willingness to follow directions and meet DQ & OJ standards.

Integrity – does the right thing even when no one is watching, honest, earns trust.

Work Conditions and Must Have Ability To

Perform under pressure in a high‑volume restaurant, moving and responding quickly for long periods.

Work in varied temperature ranges.

Stand for long periods.

Lift up to 50 pounds.

Work around nuts and other allergens.

Food Handlers Card is required.
