Role Description and Expectations The General Manager (GM) is responsible for leading and coordinating all business functions across departments to ensure operational success, team cohesion, and a consistently high level of service delivery. This role is accountable for aligning daily operations with company goals, optimizing performance across teams, and serving as the central leadership figure onsite. The GM will ensure each department is working collaboratively toward shared goals while upholding our company values and standards.
Leadership & Team Oversight
Lead department heads to ensure alignment of priorities, goals, and performance.
Provide coaching and performance feedback to leadership staff and key staff.
Facilitate weekly leadership meetings and quarterly business reviews.
Build a culture of accountability, integrity, and operational execution.
Monitor job costing, project margins, and operational efficiencies.
Review daily production performance and remove operational bottlenecks.
Collaborate with sales and production to ensure accurate handoffs and scope clarity.
Customer Experience & Brand Representation
Address high-level customer concerns and complaints with professionalism and resolve.
Ensure that the customer experience team has tools and support needed to communicate proactively throughout each project.
Represent the company in public-facing capacities as needed (community involvement, vendor relationships).
Financial & Administrative Oversight
Monitor P&L and provide budget forecasts in collaboration with finance.
Approve invoices and department-level purchasing.
Ensure compliance with insurance, licensing, permitting, and safety regulations.
Cross-Departmental Alignment
Sales: Partner with the Sales Manager to review pipeline, approve discounts, and ensure accurate scope.
Production: Coordinate with the Director of Production to meet install timelines, quality expectations, and labor requirements.
Customer Experience: Support the Customer Experience Team in developing client communication protocols and satisfaction metrics.
Admin/Finance: Collaborate with Finance Department on payroll, billing, collections, and reporting.
Success Metrics
Achievement of monthly and quarterly revenue/gross margin targets.
Job completion timelines and on-time scheduling rates.
Customer satisfaction and referral metrics.
Team retention and leadership effectiveness.
Operational efficiency and budget adherence.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in senior operational or management role.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and hold others accountable.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Working knowledge of production workflows, job costing, CRM/project management tools.
Able to work on-site Monday through Friday with availability for urgent issues after hours.
