Position Overview For over two decades, Spectrum Medical Care Center has been a trusted leader in delivering accessible, affirming, and high‑quality healthcare throughout Greater Phoenix. We specialize in care for LGBTQ+ individuals, people living with HIV, and all patients seeking compassionate, culturally competent primary care. We are seeking an MD or DO Primary Care Physician who is not only clinically exceptional but deeply aligned with our mission of health equity, patient dignity, and community‑rooted care. At Spectrum, your work directly uplifts communities and expands access to life‑changing care—including HIV treatment and prevention, PrEP/PEP services, gender‑affirming care, chronic disease management, and comprehensive primary care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide patient‑centered, trauma‑informed, and culturally affirming primary care to a diverse and multigenerational patient population
Work within a collaborative model that includes medical providers, medical assistants, behavioral health specialists, HIV case managers, and care navigators
Deliver care that affirms LGBTQ+ identities, addresses social determinants of health, and empowers patients through education and partnership
Support and participate in HIV prevention and treatment programs, including PrEP/PEP management and chronic HIV care
Contribute to clinical quality improvement, evidence‑based practice, and Spectrum’s integrated care model
Actively engage in building an inclusive clinical environment centered on dignity, equity, and respect
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
Arizona medical license (or eligibility within a reasonable time frame)
Board certification/eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
Ability to work respectfully and effectively with diverse populations
Commitment to Spectrum’s values of inclusion, equity, and cultural humility
AAHIVM certification (or willingness to obtain)
Ability to meet the physical requirements of a community clinical environment
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Direct patient care setting; OSHA Category 1 environment
Regular sitting, computer use, and patient interaction
Occasional lifting/moving up to 25 lbs
Licenses and Certifications
Valid Driver’s License (required)
Must be able to obtain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card during background check process. (Required)
Required Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities
An MD or DO, licensed or license‑eligible in the state of Arizona
Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine; HIV Fellowship training is a plus
Passionate about serving LGBTQ+ communities and individuals living with or affected by HIV
Experienced or interested in HIV care, PrEP/PEP, and sexual health (AAHIVM certification is a plus; willingness to obtain required)
Committed to culturally competent, nonjudgmental, community‑focused care.
A strong collaborator who values team‑based practice, integrated behavioral health, and population health approaches
